After installing all the FPV gear my initial test worked out perfectly, but I did not like how it was so messy with wires everywhere. When I took it out to the park for my first test flight it took a few minutes to setup everything up because there was so many wires to plug in. It really bothered me all the wiring made my ground station so cluttered. I remembered in the past I have seen a lot of people building their ground station setup inside a Pelican Waterproof case.

So, I went to Frys Electronics to looked for a Pelican case that is about the same size as my 8" LCD screen and I found one... Pelican 1200. They wanted to charge me $49.99 for that case but lucky for me they are willing to match Amazon.com price of $38.48. Plus I did not want to wait until next week to get it in the mail.

I also had to pick up a RCA wall mount plate so I could use them on the side of the case to connect the ImmersionRC DUO 5.8ghz RX to my monitors. Since the wall mount RCA jack are held on to the plate with a nut, I could remove it from the wall plate and use it on the Pelican case instead. All I need to do is drill 3 holes in the case.

Even though I have the ImmersionRC DUO 5.8ghz RX stored in the case I will need to take out all the antenna and RX out before I can use it.

The RX and 2 antenna will be mounted to a pan and tilt system , but for the time being that antenna will be stationary.

Here is the ImmersionRC EZOSD mounted to the top of the frame with the GPS up and the navigation buttons facing out.

On the bottom is the ImmersionRC current sensor with XT60 plugs. As you can see I converted the XT60's back to Deans.

And finally the Immersion RC 600mW TX with a IBCrazy Skew Planar Wheel Whip Antenna. I was using a Clover Leaf Antenna but the loops broke and fell somewhere. So I had to use the SPW antenna for now.

Here you can see the quad and all the FPV gear together.

Instead of using a second camera, I am taping in the video from the GoPro Hero 2 that is mounted on a gimbal.

This is how it looks with the FPV monitor on. I am inside the house right now and in the picture above is the exact location of quad. I also have the ReadyMadeRC DVR turned on bit the screen is at an angle.

Here is a video of my first FPV flight recorded with the ReadyMadeRC FPV1000 DVR. I also hate that the flight summery shows up with I stop. That would not be a problem for a plane because it would not stop and hover like I could with the quad. I will turn that option off next time I fly.

Soon to arrive in the mail is the Pan/Tilt antenna tracker
